¡Qué suerte tenemos! Nos tocó vivir rodeados de tecnología, de aparatos que facilitan nuestras vidas como la internet, el teléfono celular, los medicamentos para enfermedades antes incurables y... tus juguetes, incluyendo los videojuegos.
Pero la invención de todas estas cosas maravillosas sólo ha sido posible gracias a las investigaciones científicas y a la aplicación que de sus descubrimientos han hecho los tecnólogos; de ahí la importancia de la ciencia.

La Física en Todas las Cosas

Este trabajo surge con el deseo de acercar a los estudiantes de primaria a la investigación en general y, en particular a la física, a fin de que puedan comprobar no sólo que está directamente relacionada con su vida y les permite entender muchos fenómenos cotidianos, sino que puede ser algo emocionante y divertido. Para ello, se ha elaborado un texto cuyo objetivo es propiciar el análisis y la reflexión, aprovechando su curiosidad natural; además de presentarles un panorama, a grosso modo, del vasto campo que esta ciencia abarca.
El punto de partida es que los niños son capaces de comprender ideas complejas, siempre y cuando reciban explicaciones claras y los conceptos sean asociados a situaciones o cosas que ellos conozcan.
Es importante resaltar que no basta promover el estudio de la ciencia y la tecnología en nuestro país; también es necesario cambiar el concepto que de ellas se tiene y reconocer que en México se puede tener una producción científica a la altura de cualquier otra nación, a condición de que reciba el apoyo necesario, y se fomente su aplicación para impulsar nuestro desarrollo.

Los experimentos que presentamos en este cuadernillo son producto de un proyecto que desarrollamos, para educación básica, con niños de diversas comunidades rurales alejadas y dispersas; algunas indígenas, otras urbanomarginales, e incluso migrantes (circos), como parte de los programas de Educación Comunitaria, a cargo del Consejo Nacional de Fomento Educativo (CONAFE), en el Estado de México.
Tenemos la certeza de que estos ejercicios favorecen el desarrollo de competencias para despertar la curiosidad, el desafío, el interés y el placer por descubrir, comprender y explicar algunos fenómenos naturales.
